You cannot remarry before the Court have made your Final Order/Decree Absolute. You can, however, be divorced without the finances being resolved (and approved by the Court) between you and your ex-spouse and therefore free to re-marry. However, there could be significant disadvantages to completing the divorce before the finances are resolved. There can also be disadvantages to re-marrying if you are divorced prior to resolving the finances with your ex-spouse and the claims that you may be able to make against your ex-spouse financially whereas the claims that they would be able to make against you financially would be unaffected by your re-marriage. It is therefore essential to take advice before you remarry.
