Leading South West law firm Stephens Scown has been shortlisted across four categories in the LexisNexis awards, including Law Firm of the Year.

Stephens Scown is recognised across categories which demonstrate both the quality of its work, its customer service, and its focus on caring for people and planet.

The categories are Law Firm of the Year, Customer Focus, Sustainability, and Wellbeing. The awards acknowledge the best legal businesses across the UK, and to be nominated across all four categories in which the company submitted entries is a terrific achievement and reflects the best of the firm.

Sharing his thoughts on the nominations, Managing Partner Richard Baker said, “It’s a tremendous honour to be recognised by LexisNexis across the categories. Having been nominated last year too, it’s clear that we’re seen as a major player in the legal sector both for the value of our work and for our commitment to our employees, and in our sustainability efforts.

“They’re further acknowledgment that we are a South West heavyweight making waves on a national stage. Everyone associated with Stephens Scown can be proud of the part played in these shortlistings and for making the company such a great place both to work and to do business.”

Being nominated for Law Firm of the Year demonstrates the quality of work being undertaken throughout the organisation which celebrated its best financial year while supporting clients as their trusted advisors. It’s a tremendous achievement to be listed in the most competitive prize and in what will be the event’s headline category.

That support is also highlighted with the Customer Focus award, underlining the firm’s commitment to putting clients’ needs first and delivering an outstanding service. The new enquiries system recently hit 10,000 new enquiries, saving teams more than 3,300 hours in taking enquiries – and helping to match clients with an advisor who has the appropriate skillset and cost.

The Sustainability shortlisting comes hot on the heels of the company’s Net Zero Hero campaign launch and status as a B Corp™ organisation, with the judges impressed by the culture and ethos on display throughout the firm.

Finally, the Wellbeing Award is a recognition of the work done to support employees across their work and personal lives. It considers the firm’s employee-owned status, the opportunities afforded by the HR team’s health and wellbeing internal support page, and the role of the company’s Trustee team in representing the interests of employees.

The awards are scheduled for the 13 March in London when Stephens Scown will be represented alongside businesses from across the UK, rightfully taking its place with the best and most innovative legal organisations.

Each of the four nominations shows the firm’s progress over the last 12 months, aligned to its four strategic pillars, and the continuous commitment to improvement across all areas of the business.
