Westcountry icons The Wurzels will be performing at the Devon County Show for the first time, entertaining exhibitors and invited guests at an exclusive event on the first day of the show, thanks to Stephens Scown.
Stephens Scown has teamed up with the Devon County Show to bring The Wurzels to the Westpoint showground. The four-piece group will be playing its famous hits including Combine Harvester and I am a Cider Drinker at an exclusive event for livestock exhibitors and invited guests on 21 May.
Susie Murray, a partner in the rural services team at Stephens Scown in Exeter said: “We wanted to do something really different at the Show this year and think The Wurzels will be the perfect way for livestock exhibitors, our clients and guests to let their hair down and have fun after a busy first day at the show.
“A lot of serious business takes place at the Devon County Show, but there is room for fun too – and what better way to have fun than being entertained by Westcountry legends The Wurzels!”
Show Secretary Ollie Allen said: “It is great news that The Wurzels will be at the Show. I am sure that the livestock exhibitors who have accepted an invitation from Stephens Scown will thoroughly enjoy the event.”
The Wurzels were formed in 1966 and are still going strong, gaining new fans and playing gigs and festivals across the country.
The Devon County Show takes place from 21-23 May at Westpoint near Exeter. Highlights this year include a motocross stunt team and Farm Wise Devon – a huge new interactive feature especially for children. Visitors will also be able to enjoy the prize-winning livestock, delicious local food and drink and Westcountry crafts.
