We want our trainees to feel part of the firm from the moment they accept their offer and we keep in regular contact before they start. We understand that starting your training contract can be a bit daunting after all our solicitors were in that position once!
We spend time with all new trainees prior to them starting their training contracts to make sure the seats they are placed in tick all the right boxes for their career progression and they know where to go to if they have any questions. We want them to feel supported from the moment they choose Stephens Scown.
One of my favourite events is our welcome lunches. We have lunch just before our trainees start and it is a great opportunity for our new joiners to meet with existing trainees. It’s an opportunity to ask any questions and get to know their peer group. After lunch all the new trainees have a guided a tour of the office and meet the team they will be commencing their first seat in. It helps settle the first day nerves.
We recently had a get together with the new and existing trainees from our Exeter Office. We have 6 new trainees joining this year in the Exeter Office who have all just finished their LPC and looking forward to summer holidays before joining us in August. Our other offices will be having theirs next month. We wish them a fabulous and well deserved break and look forward to them joining us.
