Now the clocks have gone forwards and British Summer Time has begun, it is the perfect opportunity to catch-up with friends over a cup of coffee. Our team have selected some of their personal favourite places to go in you are looking for somewhere new to try.
Cornwall
Starting with Cornwall, some of our go to places are:
- Sabzi located in Padstow, Newquay, Truro and Falmouth
- Espressini in Falmouth
- Canteen in Mount Hawke and Truro
Sabzi
If you want to find somewhere a little bit different for your afternoon coffee, why not try one of these popular spot located around Cornwall. Sabzi is an eco-friendly Cornish owned business. Sabzi offers a Persian inspired deli boasting middle eastern inspired salads and cakes made fresh every day. Chanelle Kimber, a Solicitor in the family team, shares that ‘they have cafes in several spots but their café in Falmouth is particularly impressive offering views over Falmouth marina.’ Sabzi in Truro is also a great healthy option for when you need a quick takeaway lunch if you work in or around the area.
Espressini
Chanelle also recommends Espressini which ‘is a quirky and intimate venue often frequented by the artists and students of the local community. It’s also a great place to take your laptop and plug in for work for the day offering the most beautiful cakes and lovely brunch options.’
The baristas are friendly and approachable with an in-depth knowledge of coffee. Espressini serve Yallah Coffee which is local Cornish company with a passion for creating rich and indulging coffee all while minimising their impact to the environment wherever possible.
Canteen
Canteen is placed next to Mount Hawke skate park so ideally located for a spot of lunch after taking the children for a skate. If you don’t live locally to Mount Hawke, Chanelle confirms that ‘the food really is worth the trip with smoked meat and salad and cakes that will keep you going back for more.’ You will never be stuck for options with Canteen as their menu changes daily based on what they receive from the local farm and suppliers.
Canteen also has their own farm known as Canteen Farm in Perranporth which allows them to grow their own produce and reduce their impact on the environment. For those of you with green fingers, you can also get involved on Thursdays by volunteering at the farm. Volunteering will also earn you café credits which you can then use on your next trip to Canteen in Mount Hawke or Truro.
