Abigail joined Stephens Scown in 2021 and is a solicitor in the Immigration team. Qualifying in 2023, she provides advice on personal and corporate immigration matters. Her clients range from South West businesses to individuals from all over the world.

Abigail has a first-class degree in International Relations and Anthropology from The University of Exeter. She completed her GDL and LPC with distinction from The University of Lawand has a LLM in International Migration and Refugee Law from Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam.

Abigail has extensive experience in the charity sector including working to support refugees and asylum-seekers, as well as litigants in person representing themselves in The Royal Courts of Justice and Central Family Court.

She is also part of Stephens Scown’s specialist Food and Drink team and is a member of the Immigration Law Practitioners Association (ILPA).

Recent work includes:

  • Acting for a mother in her application to remain in the UK with her two British children who, despite being under the age of 18 when she first came to the UK, are now over 18, but still very much in need of her support.
  • Acted for hospitality and agricultural clients in their application for a Skilled Worker Sponsor Licence to allow them to recruit from abroad and fill long-standing vacancies.
  • Applying for entry clearance, leave to remain and indefinite leave to remain for various partners of British Citizens to enable them to live together in the UK as a family.
  • Supporting individuals with offers of sponsored work at care homes in the South West to apply for the relevant leave.

Outside of work Abigail volunteers with local refugee support organisations and enjoys running, swimming, and long walks with her dog.
