Chanelle joined the Family Finance team in 2023, working with clients following marital breakdown and advising them on financial issues.
Since qualifying in 2005, she has 5 years of experience (after a career break to raise 3 children) specialising in divorce and financial proceedings, pre-nuptial agreements, separation agreements, and Schedule 1 Children Act Applications.
Some recent examples of Chanelle’s work include:
- Advising business owners and their spouses on the division of complex financial assets involving various business vehicles including companies and partnerships.
- Assisting a client wishing to remain a director in their business to negotiate an appropriate business agreement, liaising closely with the Corporate team.
- Advising unmarried parents on provision for children under Schedule 1 of the Children Act for lump sums, top up orders in relation to child maintenance payments and property provision to meet children’s housing needs.
- Dealing with sharing public sector pensions schemes on divorce, including military and NHS pensions.
Chanelle is a member of Cornwall Law Society, and Resolution – an organisation of family law professionals committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes.
Outside of work, Chanelle regularly trains and competes with Gyllyngvase Surf Life Saving Club and is a regular cold water swimmer, as well as having an interest in health and fitness more generally. She is also a fluent French speaker.
