Working with the Real Estate team’s specialist rural subsector, Edward Worthy joined Stephens Scown as a consultant in April 2025.
Since qualifying in 1998, he has specialised in agricultural property, acting exclusively for rural landowners in relation to diversified farm property.
Recent examples of his work include:
- Options and promotion agreements for strategic development;
- Overage agreements;
- Biodiversity gain off site agreements;
- Solar and battery options;
- Agricultural tenancies;
- Mineral extraction, recycling, and landfill development;
- Utility easements;
- Land registration;
- Public rights of way;
- Farm sale and purchase.
Moving from Partner to independent consultancy work in 2023, Edward’s work brought him to the South West where he has family connections.
Having been involved with local and national Country Land and Business Association committee work for many years, Edward has worked closely with the farming community via Essex Agricultural Society, including two years as Chairman.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys, sailing around the Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall, and skiing in western Norway. He is also a rugby union fan, supporting London Irish RFC.
