Elizabeth is a solicitor in the Family team specialising in matters that relate to children.

Joining the team in 2016 as a paralegal, Elizabeth trained with the firm as a solicitor, qualifying in January 2021.

She provides advice to many types of clients including:

• Parents
• Step-parents
• Grandparents
• Special Guardians
• Prospective Special Guardians
• Long term foster carers
• Any other person with parental responsibility for a child

Elizabeth’s specialist areas of expertise include:

• Advising and representing parents who can’t agree with the other parent on issues including:
  • Child arrangements
  • Schooling
  • Vaccinations
• Advising and representing parents who want to move a child from England/Wales to another part of the UK (internal relocation)
• Advising parents who are worried about their child’s safety and wellbeing whilst in the care of the other parent
• Advising and representing parents in cases where there have been allegations of domestic abuse against themselves and/or their children
• Advising and representing parents in cases where they are the subject of allegations of domestic abuse
• A grandparents’ involvement in a child’s life and disputes about contact with their grandchildren
• Assisting parents going through the Public Law Outline (PLO) process
• Advising parents whose children are subject to child protection by the Local Authority
• Representing parents involved in care proceedings and fact-finding trials
• Representing other family members who are joined to care proceedings

Recent examples of her work include:

• Achieving an Order enabling a father to relocate with his children to another part of the UK
• Achieving an Order enabling a father to vaccinate his children in line with Standard NHS guidance
• Achieving an Order extending an existing Non-Molestation Order
• Representing a mother in care proceedings whose child had made serious sexual abuse allegations against their step-father
• Advising parents whose children were subject to child protection plans and had significant health issues including chronic fatigue and long covid

Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family, all things Spring and Summer and long baths.
