Matt joined Stephens Scown in October 2024 as a Partner in the Employment team.
Having qualified in 2008 through the CILEX route, Matt has extensive experience in employment matters. Some examples of his recent work include:
- Conducting a successful defence of a significant race discrimination claim.
- Securing a beneficial exit for a HR Director in challenging and acrimonious circumstances.
- Advising a cutting-edge technology client on a major restructure of its manufacturing business.
- Securing significant settlements in two different sexual harassment claims against the Police.
He was President of CILEX in 2022 as it announced a proposal and consultation to change regulator from CILEX Regulation to the SRA and remains a non-executive director.
Outside of work, Matt is a keen cricketer, regular go-karter, and attends music gigs in addition to spending time at the gym and travelling when he can.
