Joining Stephens Scown in November 2023, Robin is a Partner in our Corporate team’s specialist Restructuring and Insolvency team.
Robin qualified as a solicitor in 1992, having trained at Clarke Willmott in Taunton and spent 20 years working in the Midlands. His areas of expertise include advisory work for investors and boards of directors, contentious and non-contentious personal and corporate insolvency, finance, and commercial contracts.
He works closely with clients to fully understand their objectives and ensures his advice is tailored to finding a commercial solution which works for them. Past work has included the Receivership of Luton Town FC, and notable reported cases including Re J Smiths Haulage Ltd and Top Brands Ltd v Mama Milla Ltd.
Some of his recent work includes:
- Acting for insolvency practitioners on sales of assets and companies as going concerns.
- Brought claims against directors for misfeasance and fraud-related claims.
- Acted on the insolvency of educational establishments, sports clubs, and manufacturing businesses.
- Advising boards of directors on solvency issues and turnaround projects.
He has also advised charities and charitable institutions, predominantly in the education sector, on solvency and restructuring issues.
Outside of work, Robin enjoys playing golf, swimming, travel, going for walks with his dog, and generally spending time with family.
