Tom joined Stephens Scown in January 2024 as a solicitor in the Dispute Resolution team’s specialist Property Litigation subsector.

Since his qualification in 2022, Tom’s work includes:

• Property disputes to include commercial and residential properties.
• Commercial and residential landlord and tenant disputes.
• Advising on restrictive covenants and easements and boundary disputes.

Examples of his recent work includes:

• Successfully resolving a dispute in favour of a client relating to a disputed right of way over an unregistered lane, enabling the client to carry on with their farming business without interruption.
• Advising clients in relation to restrictive covenants burdening their land and advising on modification and discharge.
• Successfully regaining possession of residential property let under Assured Shorthold Tenancies.

Outside of work, Tom is a rugby fan, supporting the Exeter Chiefs and the England national team. He also enjoys cooking and enjoying all that Cornwall has to offer; beaches, food and drink, plus countryside walks with his cocker spaniel.
