We are thrilled to share that three of our Partners have been recognised for their private wealth expertise, being ranked in the latest edition of Chambers and Partners’ High Net Worth Guide.
After another year of extensive research, the Chambers High Net Worth Guide has been released. The guide ranks the leading and most dedicated lawyers and law firms for international private wealth based on feedback from clients and other specialist industry professionals.
Partners in the Private Client team, Phil Reed and Graham Murdoch have yet again retained their Band 1 status in the Cornwall region, praised for setting clients’ “minds at rest when they were worried about an issue relating to a case” and “offering excellent support and understanding of the situation with empathy and compassion”.
One interviewee stated, “I was constantly impressed with the focus, attention to detail and accurate communication demonstrated by the team at Stephens Scown.”
Meanwhile, James Burrows, Partner and head of our Inheritance and Trust Disputes team, has been ranked for the first time in Band 2 for the South West. Acting principally for individuals in relation to inheritance and trusts disputes, he has been described by a client as “… one of the best in the West; he actually knows what the clients think, which gives them confidence in their lawyer.”
Speaking about our success, Managing Partner Richard Baker said, “It’s great to see the work of our Inheritance and Trust Disputes and Private Client specialists recognised for the work they do in these complex areas of law.
“It’s especially rewarding as the rankings are based on client feedback, and often relate to matters that are incredibly stressful and emotional. It’s fantastic to see James’ work rewarded for the first time and to see his work supporting clients acknowledged in the guide.”
Additional comments highlighting the quality of work undertaken include: “Stephens Scown is a very good firm, proactive and responsive to email in a timely manner.”
The Firm’s expertise is further enhanced by the addition of new partner, Tom Biddick, who is also ranked in the guide in the Exeter and surrounds region, and praised for his work advising high net worth clients on a wide range of wills, estate administration and tax planning matters.
