Hot on the heels of its listing in four categories of the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2025, Stephens Scown has been named as a finalist across five categories in the Clio Modern Law Awards 2025.

The categories are Law Firm of the Year, Client Care Award (26+ Employees), Corporate Social Responsibility, Workplace Wellbeing, and Rising Star of the Year for Megan Eaton from the Family team. It’s a spread of awards that covers many of the Firm’s core values and commitments, and sees Megan nominated for her work in going over and above for clients who are often dealing with challenging situations.

Talking about the nominations, Managing Partner Richard Baker said, “It’s terrific news to be shortlisted in these categories, and only a few days after our LexisNexis success. With these five nominations, we’re clearly viewed as a real force on the national stage. The really pleasing thing is that each category shows a strength across a range of areas, both in terms of our client focus, how we care both for the planet and employee, and it’s fantastic to see Megan rewarded for her tremendous work in the Family team.

“It highlights that Stephens Scown is a great place to do business and to work, and that our efforts are seen by a wider audience who acknowledge our status as a regional heavyweight. None of this recognition is possible without the company’s collective efforts, and we can be proud of our accomplishments.”

A nomination for Law Firm of the Year saw the judging panel recognise the quality of work done for clients throughout the Firm, and which was reflected in its most successful financial year. Being featured in the headline category is a tremendous honour and achievement as it places the business up against law firms from across the UK.

Stephens Scown’s role as trusted advisors is shown with the Client Care Award (26+ Employees) nomination, emphasising the Firm’s commitment to customer care and the service provided to clients. The continuous drive to improve its offer and to obtain feedback has been a key part of the nomination.

The Corporate and Social Responsibility listing highlights the work done both as a B Corp™ accredited company, and for its push to achieve Net Zero as part of the newly launched Net Zero Hero campaign. The Firm placing equal importance on the values of people, planet, and profit as a core value was recognised by the awards panel.

Workplace Wellbeing takes the Firm’s efforts to promote work-life balance, its employee-ownership status, and ranking on the Sunday Times Best Places to Work list into consideration, alongside the support provided to ensure employees are cared for thanks to the opportunities and help available.

Finally, Megan’s nomination for Rising Star of the Year follows being shortlisted as Family Law Young Solicitor of the Year, and her dedication to supporting clients through difficult times, regularly going over and above in her work. It’s well-deserved recognition for her application and attitude for what family law represents.

The awards will take place on the 6 March in Manchester where Stephens Scown will be up against the best legal businesses from across the country, rightfully taking its place alongside them.

Across all five of the shortlisted categories, the Firm’s growth over the last year reflects the company’s strategic pillars and drive to innovate and improve, along with the quality of work being done by its lawyers as evidenced by Megan’s individual shortlisting.
