A lawyer from one of the South West’s leading family law teams has been recognised by an independent guide to law firms Legal 500, which has highlighted her in its Hall of Fame.
Liz Allen is a partner and head of family at Stephens Scown LLP in Exeter. She is also on the firm’s board and is deputy head of the Exeter office. Liz is the only family lawyer from the South West to be included in Legal 500’s Hall of Fame.
Legal 500 describes its Hall of Fame as highlighting, “individuals who have received constant praise by their clients for continued excellence” and recognising “the law firm partners who are at the pinnacle of the profession”. Lawyers form the UK, USA, Europe and Middle East are included in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame.
Liz Allen commented: “This means a lot because it is also a recognition of the fantastic family team we have at Stephens Scown. Our job is to advise people at one of the most stressful periods of their lives, when they are going through a divorce or family breakdown. To know that they are happy with the advice and support the team and I give them and that we can help to make a stressful time a little bit easier, is very rewarding.”
Stephens Scown is the only firm in Devon and Cornwall to be top ranked in the industry guides of Chambers and Legal500 for its family law work. The team specialises in divorce, particularly involving complex financial issues.
Stephens Scown has over 290 staff, including more than 50 partners, across its offices in Exeter, Truro and St Austell. The firm has been listed for four consecutive years in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For list. For more information visit stephens-scown.co.uk
