Real Estate Full Time
Stephens Scown has ambitious growth aspirations to support our goal to be the leading regional law firm in the greater South West region. To support this growth, we are looking for equally ambitious individuals to join and develop our Property Litigation Team in our growing Somerset office.
Just a year on from opening our Taunton office and following an outstanding first year working with new clients, engaging with the business community and supporting the county’s communities, we are preparing to move into new permanent premises and continue to build on our growing market share. Our Property Litigation Team has seen exceptional growth over the last 5 years and is now our largest specialist team. The team has ambitious plans to grow further in and around Somerset and beyond. We are looking for talented lawyers to join the Team to build on our growth to date and to drive the growth in Somerset.
If you are client-focused, committed and love to work collaboratively, why not contact us to find out more about the opportunity and to learn more about the unique culture and ethos of working for an employee-owned and B Corp Certified law firm. Can you play a part in shaping our exciting future?
The Property Litigation Team is well ranked in Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500 in the South West. The Team has both national and regional clients, and works across all sectors offered by the firm. You will be an integral part of an established, collegiate and well-regarded practice and will be offered all of the support needed to succeed.
As an experienced property litigator, you’ll be familiar with the role already and understand how you add value to your clients. At Stephens Scown, you’ll work collaboratively across other teams including a large and established Real Estate practice covering practice areas from development to, commercial property, agriculture, mines and minerals to residential property. We also have significant Planning, Construction and Regulatory Teams. In addition we have Corporate, Insolvency and Restructuring, Employment, Intellectual Property and Data Protection and Private Client Teams with which we work regularly.
What makes working for Stephens Scown different? At Stephens Scown, every day is what we make it. So we make it matter. Doing notable work for notable clients, building our skills with talented people and having a positive impact on our communities sits at the heart of everything we do.
We don’t just say it, we live it. Our commitment to our people, clients and communities runs through our DNA. We are employee-owned, we are a Certified B CorporationTM, and we are featured in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024 list – ensuring our culture and ethos of going above and beyond for our people, our colleagues and our communities is recognised nationally.
Working here is something else entirely. It’s a place where we can step up to tough challenges with people so good they inspire us to be better. We proudly work in a beautiful part of the country, go beyond expectations and achieve things that matter.
We’re the UK’s first major employee-owned law firm. But more than this, we’re people-centred, people-powered. We do what it takes to help each other overcome every challenge. Whatever’s happening in the world, empowering our people is what matters.
Our communities and colleagues give us a lot to be thankful for. So we try to make them feel as valued as our clients. Whether we’re digging deep and giving our time and money, picking up rubbish from our streets and beaches, at Stephens Scown, if it’s right, it matters.
We might have the expertise of a top city firm, but outside our offices there’s not a skyscraper in sight. Whether we’re getting to know our clients on our local beach or having fun in the park with colleagues, we’re all about living a life enriched by work. Making the fun matter.
